AI-powered Tags Extraction in Drawings
This guide will walk you through the process of identifying tags, objects, and equipment on engineering drawings like P&IDs etc. It will also demonstrate how to link these elements to an Asset Object/Tag register. By following this straightforward approach, you can ensure accurate documentation, improve asset traceability, and maintain consistency in your records. Whether you're new to this process or looking to refine your skills, this guide offers practical steps to achieve efficient asset management.
Manage Object Links
Open the application Manage Object Links from the Document details application. Note that you need to be assigned an Role which has the capability to manage object links in order to open this application.
Search for tags/objects
Initiate the search, the search will use the defined tag syntaxes and use AI and Drawing Analysis to identify tags and highlight them.
Identified tags/objects
All tags/objects which was identified will be highlighted with a blue or orange mark. Blue marking means that the tag/object was identified in the drawing and in the tag/object register and is now automatically connected to the drawing. Orange marking means that the tag/object was identified in the drawing, but it did not identify any tag/object in the register.
When an blue marked tag/object is selected the details are available on mouse hover
Navigate to tags/objects
When a tag/object is selected an navigation menu is shown and you can navigate to the tag/object details application, the BIM application if the tag/object is also connected to a BIM model.
Manual select or edit selection in drawing
By using the Object Marker you can manual select and connect tag/object in the drawing
Draw around the tag/object you want to select and by selecting the + symbol you will initiate the connection to an tag/object in the tag/object register
If the tag/object is already existing in the tag/object register it will filter for it and you can create the connection by selecting it
If the tag/object is not available in the tag/object register you can register it by selecting the + symbol in the grid
The same functionality is available if you select an connected (blue marked) tag/object, you can both remove the connection or change the tag/object registered
Select the marker and + symbol to connect a tag/object or delete the markup
If the tag/object is already existing in the tag/object register it will be automatically filtered for and you can select it
If the tag/object is not available in the tag/object register you can create it by using + symbol in the grid
Navigate to BIM model
When the tag/object is connected to the BIM model you can navigate through the 3D button
While in the the BIM model you can navigate between all tag/objects on the drawing
