Pims R5 Team from Lithuania visits Norway
For internal release
The week began with a full day of presentations and dialogue. On Tuesday morning, participants joined a hybrid knowledge-sharing session streamed via Teams, with up to 65 colleagues tuning in from other locations. Business Developer Tor Erling Lunde opened the session by presenting Omega 365’s strategic direction, followed by Senior Advisor Kjetil Vågen, who offered insights into Pims from a Vår Energi perspective. Vår Energi, one of Norway’s largest oil and gas companies operating on the Norwegian continental shelf, is a client of Omega 365 and uses Pims in its operations.
After lunch, Thomas Sundsøy from Aker BP provided insight into how Pims is applied in the Yggdrasil and PWP Fenris projects—setting the stage for the following day’s site visit. The day concluded with a Q&A focused on technical aspects of Pims R5, giving developers the opportunity to explore how their work directly supports project execution. That evening, nearly 50 colleagues joined a bowling and dinner event, offering a relaxed setting to strengthen ties across teams.
From platform discussions to platform construction
Wednesday brought the team to the Aker Solutions yard at Stord, accompanied by colleagues from the Bergen office. The visit included lunch, project updates from the site team, and a tour of the construction site—providing firsthand insight into the scale and complexity of Norway’s largest topside developments.
“Seeing the Yggdrasil and PWP Fenris platforms under construction gave the developers valuable context. It reinforced how the systems they build are used to support major operations in the field,” says Arild Røksund, Department Manager at Omega 365 Solutions in Stavanger.
Later in the day, the group continued to Kubbervik at Tysnes. Surrounded by a peaceful setting and joined by good food and light activities, the evening provided space for reflection and conversation.
Strengthening collaboration across locations
The program wrapped up on Thursday with joint brunch and informal discussions under sunny skies. Participants then returned to their respective offices in Bergen, Stavanger, and Lithuania.
“Feedback from the visit emphasized the value of meeting in person—both in terms of building stronger working relationships and gaining deeper insight into the projects being supported. Bringing development teams closer to project execution and cross-location collaboration strengthens both product and teamwork,” says Røksund.
