Converting to Omega 365 Core Technology Platform ("NT")

A majority of our Omega 365 clients have now upgraded to the Omega 365 Core Technology Platform. Within short time we target to have all of our clients migrated.

What is new?
Major improvements compared to the existing technology platform includes an upgraded grid component, configurable work processes and registers, and several other improvements to the user interface. We are also introducing Scope Items, a fundamental data structure which unifies workflows, activities and meetings. The back-end also includes several improvements, such as utilizing .NET 8 and an improved access layer, which manages the communication and data exchange between the user interface and the back-end system.
The Omega 365 CTP is future-proof with high focus on security and performance, making it a platform we except to be basis for Omega 365 products for at least 20 years.
For the end-users the most visible changes are:
Scope Items, which unifies workflows, activities and meetings: Scope Items is one of the fundamental data structures in Omega 365, and includes both scope of work (previously using both workflows and activities) and various follow-ups. Processes can be defined the same way as before ("Workflow Processes"). However, now it is also possible to configure registers. A register can consist of one or more processes. This approach offers greater flexibility and enables us to create apps that are better tailored to meet the unique needs of our clients. New grid: The new grid component is designed to provide the users with an a tool that gives the users a good overview of data, powerful and user-friendly filtering options, and efficient way of updating and registering new data.
Easy Creation of New Records: The grid allows users to seamlessly add new records directly within the interface, streamlining the data entry process.
Handling Large Data Sets: This component is built to manage substantial amounts of data without compromising performance. It supports dynamic loading, which means data is fetched and displayed as the user scrolls, avoiding the need for traditional pagination.
Group By Folders: With group by folders the main attributes are presented in a folder hierarchy, providing another easy way to navigate the data set.
Cell and Row Selection: The grid supports both cell and row selection, enabling users to perform actions on individual cells or entire rows. This functionality is crucial for tasks that require detailed data manipulation or batch operations.

Export: The grid has a powerful export feature, allowing the user to export the data into Excel or to PDF. The Excel file generated can also be prepared with a pivot table, making it easy for the user to analyze the data
Import: The grid also have a powerful import feature, where a template can be downloaded and used for populating data which are imported.

How will the upgrade be performed
The Omega 365 Core Technology Platform (CTP) is already installed on the Omega 365 instances. However, many of the existing clients runs "CT" (Current Tech). During the upgrade existing back-end apps ("code modules") will be moved to CTP. The complexity of the upgrade project will vary depending several factors, such as the which functionality of the solution is used, how it is used and configured and the number of users. Our support team will plan the upgrade together with key resources from the clients.
Converting code modules to CTP: All modules delivered as part of the standard product is provided through standard product updates. However, any custom made code modules needs to converted.
Migrating to Scope Items. Scope Items unifies workflows, activities and meetings. It is part of the fundamental register. Migration scripts will be provided and run by Omega 365 support team. Omega will also assist with any integrations with others systems that needs to be updated
Many clients are already running on the new Omega 365 Core Technology Platform. And only the clients that have upgraded will receive product updates. Other will only receive hot-fixes of critical bugs. The upgrade timeline will be determined together with customers, however, the main portions of our clients will be upgraded during the period of June-August.
