Meet the team: Bernhard Endseth Nerland
When a building permit application needs to be finalized or a land-use plan must move from concept to approval, Bernhard Endseth Nerland is often involved. At Omega 365 Protek, he works as the responsible applicant for building permit matters and as a land-use planner. His days consist of assessments, evaluations, and applications in accordance with the Planning and Building Act and other relevant legislation. He works on everything from small zoning plans to larger-scale processes such as municipal master plans. Along the way, this may also involve risk and vulnerability analyses and environmental impact assessments. Bernhard is currently based at Omega 365 HQ in Ølensvåg.
Bernhard holds a degree in Nature Management from the former Norwegian University of Life Sciences (UMB, now NMBU) in Ås, specializing in freshwater and fisheries management. In his master’s thesis, he examined the challenges salmon and trout face when passing hydropower dams. He began his career in Sveio Municipality in 2012 before moving into the private sector, working in multidisciplinary consulting within land-use planning, natural resource management, geomatics, HSE, and building permit services. He joined Omega 365 (then Omega 365 Areal) in 2021 and returned to Omega 365 Protek in 2024.
Bernhard particularly values the close collaboration between professional disciplines at Omega 365 Protek and the diversity of projects. What he finds most rewarding is working with clients and colleagues—and seeing projects he has helped plan become reality.
Outside of work, Bernhard is a busy family man. He is married, lives in Førde in Sveio, and is the father of three daughters aged 5 to 11. Much of his free time is spent with family, running, and practical projects at home. He is also actively involved in volunteer work as a scout leader, leader of the local Liberal Party chapter in Sveio, and as a search and rescue volunteer—and drone pilot—with Norwegian People’s Aid Haugaland.
